Goal A: Advocacy

 
IRTBA will be the successful leader and advocate for stimulating increased funding at all levels for the transportation design and construction industry in Illinois. 

Strategies include: 

  • Fostering relationships among political leaders
  • Educating public officials on industry issues
  • Developing a Illinois Highway Trust Fund
     









2009 Advocacy Accomplishments:
• Advocated successfully for an Illinois State Capital Bill, “Illinois Jobs Now” •
• Partnered with Transportation For Illinois Coalition & Illinois Safe Roads Alliance •
• Continued to support the concept of a Highway Trust Fund for the State of Illinois •
• Provided testimony to the U.S. House of Representatives, Committee on Transportation •
& Infrastructure; demonstrating the benefits of the stimulus dollars in our state
• Coordinated the largest IRTBA DC Fly-In •
in conjunction with the Transportation Construction Coalition
• Supported the Build IL-53 Campaign in Lake County •
