Goal C: Communication

 
IRTBA will be the recognized authoritative public voice and credible information source for the transportation design and construction industry in Illinois.

Strategies include:
  • Developing a marketing and public relations plan
  • Expanding legislative engagements
  • Developing timely and relevant talking points and organizational positioning statements for distribution as necessary to media and/or political candidate outlets






2009 Communications Accomplishments

 • Hired new President & CEO, Michael Sturino •
• Continued/renewed agency communications through Co-ops •
• Added Kane and McHenry County Co-ops •
• Daily Herald ran IRTBA editorials, “Mini Capital Bill is Only First Step” •
& “Time to Fix Roads Not Just Potholes” (2/21/09 & 4/13/09)
• New York Times covers Charlie Gallagher’s congressional testimony, •
“New Consensus Sees Stimulus Package as Worthy Step, November 21, 2009)
• Over 1000 people receive IRTBA’s Friday Facts via email 
• Launched online meeting registration •
• Rebuilt website with added new features •
