Road Builder Charities, Inc. was created in July 2009 to provide educational funding and training programs for Illinois students. RBC supports member charities, offers scholarships to college students in transportation-related fields, and scholarships to children of fallen workers.

RBC has donated to the following member-supported organizations: ACE Technical High School, Alpine Children's Charity, Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Boys Town of Chicago, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Road Builder Charities has also provided $3,000 academic scholarships for the 2010-11 school year to students studying Construction Management or Engineering at Bradley University, Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University, and University of Illinois at Chicago.

IRTBA recently launched our 'Worker Memorial Scholarship', which will offer $3,000 to one college student whose parent or legal guardian was injured or killed on a jobsite. The scholarship will be awarded in Fall 2011.

Major fundraising events include the Annual Auction in April, the 5K Fun Run/Walk at Convention, and the Annual Golf Outing raffle.
