Mike Sturino has served as the President and CEO of the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association since 2009. An association executive, attorney, public administrator, and certified land use planner (AICP), Mr. Sturino has broad experience with a variety of transportation matters. Mike Sturino provides his expertise on behalf of the transportation industry to members of Congress, USDOT, IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, the Governor’s Office, and members of the Illinois General Assembly. He has served on the transition committees for Governor Bruce Rauner, Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Mike is the former Chair of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association Council of State Executives, and currently chairs the Transportation for Illinois Coalition Federal Affairs Committee, where he is also a member of its Executive and Steering Committee. Mike Sturino lead a successful campaign in 2016 to enact an Amendment to the Illinois Constitution that safeguards transportation revenues for transportation purposes; he recently spearheaded litigation against Cook County to enforce the Amendment, resulting in a victory in the Illinois Supreme Court in 2022.
