Road Builder Charities

Road Builder Charities, Inc. (RBC) was created in July 2009 to provide educational funding and training programs for Illinois students. RBC supports member charities, offers scholarships to college students in transportation-related fields, and scholarships to children of fallen workers. Road Builder Charities is a 501(C)3, so all donations are tax-deductible. 

RBC has donated to the following member-supported organizations: ACE Mentor, Alzheimer's Association, ARTBA Fallen Worker Children's Fund, Aunt Martha's Youth Services, CASA Kane County, Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy Fund for Advancement, Irish Fellowship Educational and Cultural Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, Little Friends, Make a Wish Foundation - Illinois, Marklund Foundation, Mother McAuley High School Scholarship Fund, National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Foundation, Project HOOD, the Schober Children Memorial Education Fund, SOS Children Villages, Tuskegee NEXT, Western Society of Engineers.

Transportation Academic Scholarships

Road Builder Charities has also provided academic scholarships for the 2018-19 school year to students studying Construction Management or Engineering at Bradley University, Joliet Junior College, McHenry County College, Northern Illinois University, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Southern Illinois University. Scholarship money is distributed to the colleges and universities, who then go on to select candidates. 


Major fundraising events include a Charity Auction in April, the 5K Fun Run/Walk at Convention, and the Annual Golf Outing contest proceeds. Road Builder Charities is a 501(C)3, so all donations are tax-deductible. Please remember that with our online donations, you can contribute any amount, at any time. Worker Memorial Scholarship

IRTBA also offers a $3,000 'Worker Memorial Scholarship' to a college student whose parent or legal guardian was injured or killed on a jobsite. Eligible parties must be current, full-time college students.
