Among IRTBA’s top priorities are legislative and regulatory issues, and other key transportation development policies. During every legislative session, IRTBA tracks bills that relate to the transportation design and construction communities.
IRTBA employs a professional lobbyist as well as a Governmental Affairs Committee, which meets weekly to discuss upcoming legislative issues. While not all IRTBA members can serve of the Governmental Affairs Committee, all members have the opportunity to submit input about any of the bills we are tracking, so that IRTBA can be sure member concerns are heard by both the Association and our legislators.
Every voice is very important. Write your representative of U.S. Congress about your industry or business issue. Have an opinion about a bill that you would like to share with your legislator? They work for you, contact them now!
Political Action Committee (PAC)
IRTBA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) works within the political process to further the strategic goals of IRTBA and its members. The IRTBA-PAC supports only those political office-holders and candidates for office who support strong federal transportation investment.
IRTBA works closely with our national affiliate, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), and the Transportation for Illinois Coalition (TFIC) - an organization of which IRTBA is a founding member - to advance similar national and local transportation development policy goals.
