To help our members combat the high cost of health insurance, the IRTBA/MMA/Blue Cross Blue Shield has formed an Association Health Plan exclusively for members.
This new plan will help achieve 5 main goals:
- Stability - Avoids many aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that cause cost increases for small business owners.
- Several levels of benefits options - There are 8 Blue Cross Blue Shield plans to choose from, including 6 PPOs, 1 HSA, and 1 HMO.
- Access to doctors employees want – access to the largest doctor and hospital system in Illinois and across the country - Blue Cross Blue Shield.
- Affordable premiums - It is predicted that this Association Health Plan will likely save between $1,900 and $4,100 per employee per year as compared to small group plans.
- Reasonable cost increases - The IRTBA has chosen Blue Cross Blue Shield as the insurance carrier. Blue Cross Blue Shield has superior brand recognition, networks, and lower-than-average cost increases compared to other carriers in the market.
